SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Timmins Rock have announced that defenceman Elijah Pool will be attending Temple University in Philadelphia, Penn., as well as joining the Owls’ American Collegiate Hockey Association’s Division I men’s program.
A two-year veteran of the NOJHL, the 20-year-old St. Albert, Alta., product appeared in 87 regular season contests for the Rock, as well as 18 playoff games.
In those 105 total match-ups, Pool was a solid stay-at-home type defender for Timmins while also contributing 34 points on one goal and 33 assists.
Chipping in offensively at key moments in 2024-25, the Rock went 14-0 when Pool registered at least one point, with 11 regular season victories and three more triumphs in the playoffs.
Meanwhile, they were a combined 12-4-1 when he etched his name on the game sheet with a point in his first year with the club.
A physical force on the back-end as well, Pool led Timmins in penalty minutes during the 2024-25 season with 60 and tied for second on the squad the previous campaign with 58.
As members of the ACHA, the Temple Owls compete out of their nine-school Eastern Collegiate Hockey Association Conference.
