In the final game before the Christmas break, the Guelph Storm was glowing like a yuletide log.
The Soo Greyhounds resembled a lump of coal.
While outplaying the visitors on Friday – especially 5-on-5 – the Storm scored three unanswered goals in the final period, en route to a 6-4 victory in front of 4,841 at Sleeman Centre.
“That’s not what we wanted to see. We lacked any kind of jump from the drop of the puck,” said Greyhounds head coach John Dean, whose club split two games on this road trip, entering the break with a 15-18-0-0 mark. “Our 5-on-5 play was terrible all night. We did not earn two points, we did not deserve two points.”
