
The Sault Surge Aquatic Team will be hosting the second annual Superior Shores Challenge Cup Spring Invitational meet over the April 25th to 27th weekend at the John Rhodes Community Centre Pool.
191 swimmers will be in action representing swim clubs from Thunder Bay, Kapuskasing, Sudbury, Valley East, Elliot Lake, Blenheim as well as the local Sault Surge Aquatic Team. Last season 120 swimmers attended the meet scheduled on the last full weekend of April.
Swimmers will be racing for Personal best times with qualifying times fast enough to be eligible for the Ontario Swimming Championships. Points will be awarded for the top 8 swimmers in each event for their respective age groups. The top Scoring team will be awarded the Superior Shores Challenge Cup. Cash prizes will also be awarded to swimmers advancing to the top 8 in each of the 50m events.
Spectators are welcome to attend with racing beginning Friday at 5:00pm. There will be 3 sessions on Saturday with start times of 8:30 a.m, 1:00 p.m and 5:30 p.m. The meet concludes Sunday with racing starting at 8:30 a.m.
