About the OP5FL
Established in 2024, the OP5FL proudly stands as Ontario’s premier men’s football league, bringing together a rich tapestry of history, talent, and passion for the game.
Rooted in the storied legacies of our founding members, the OP5FL embodies the spirit of competition and sportsmanship that defines Canadian football. From the venerable Sarnia Imperials, founded in 1928 and boasting two Grey Cup victories, to the Sudbury Spartans, established in 1952 and adorned with 18 provincial championships, our league’s foundation is built upon the triumphs of football icons.
The gridiron saga continues with the Sault Steelers, forged in 1972 and adorned with four national championships and seven provincial championships, and the Tri City Outlaws, a youthful powerhouse founded in 2003, claiming two provincial titles and a national championship. The Outlaws have for the past several years consistently ranked as one of the top 4 football programs in the country.
