The Algoma Thunderbirds are thrilled to welcome Sienna Nimubona to our women’s soccer team. A talented and versatile midfielder from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Sienna’s intelligence and dedication on and off the field make her a valuable addition to the program.
Sienna has been honing her skills for eight years, playing for teams such as the Prince Albert Celtics, Forge FC Saskatchewan, and Elite XI Soccer Academy. Her impressive career includes participation in the FTF x VSC Fall Showcase, Vancouver Cup, PSL League Finals, BTB Spring Cup, and multiple FTF Saskatchewan Showcases. Her accolades speak to her talent: Top 10 Goal Scorers in Saskatchewan (2024), FTF Top-100 in Canada for 2025 Girls (2023), and an Honourable Mention at the Saskatchewan Combine (2023).
“I am very excited to be joining the Thunderbirds!” Sienna shared. “I am a very intelligent player that loves playing the game and competing at the highest level. I will bring a creative style of play to the team, but I am also a very dedicated, hardworking student-athlete. I work hard in both school and sports to become the best version of myself. I am looking forward to the upcoming season and school year!”
Off the field, Sienna is equally impressive, earning Honour Roll recognition all four years of high school. This fall, she will begin her studies in Biology at Algoma University.
“I chose Algoma U because I loved everything that this school could offer me athletically and academically,” Sienna explained. “I get to play the sport I love under great coaches and with a great group of girls whilst pursuing my academic goals. Algoma U has a very good community, and I am very excited to be a part of it!”
