SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Monday that goaltender Dryden Riley (Timmins Rock), along with forwards Lucas Signoretti (Greater Sudbury Cubs) and DonHeaven Veilleux (Hearst Lumberjacks) have been named its initial 2025 playoffs BrokerLink Insurance 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending March 23.
Dryden Riley, (G) Timmins Rock – Nearly unbeatable, Riley stopped all but one shot he faced to backstop Timmins to a pair of home ice victories over the Soo Eagles and give the Rock a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven set.
Wrapping up his impressive weekend, the 17-year-old from Belleville, Ont. registered a sharp 0.50 goals-against average, an equally stellar .986 save percentage, and posted one shutout.
Manning the nets previously with the Greater Kingston Gaels under-16 AAA squad prior to arriving in Timmins to begin last season, Riley has already matched his pair of NOJHL playoff wins that he recorded in 2024.
Lucas Signoretti, (F) Greater Sudbury Cubs: Pacing all skaters offensively, Signoretti amassed a league-best seven points last week as the Cubs took the first two games of their series against Iroquois Falls.
The 20-year-old from Kanata, Ont., scored four times to take the early NOJHL lead in that department and dished out three assists as well.
An alumnus of the Ottawa Valley Titans minor hockey program, Signoretti helped set-up the game-winner, as part of a five-point effort, in the opener versus the Storm, then added a shorthanded marker and a helper in a Game 2 triumph.
DonHeaven Veilleux, (F) Hearst Lumberjacks: Scoring in each of the first two Hearst triumphs over Powassan, Veilleux notched three in total for his side.
The 20-year-old, who hails from Dieppe, N.B., also supplied a trio of assists along the way to sit second in playoff scoring with six points. Dating back to the 2024 postseason, he has racked up nine points in his last three playoff games versus the Voodoos.
Skating previously in the Northern Moose U18 AAA system out of New Brunswick, Veilleux is coming off a regular season with the Lumberjacks where he set new personal-bests in goals (23); assists (34) and points (57).
