saultsports SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Monday that a of trio of forwards in Lucas Signoretti (Greater Sudbury Cubs); Mathieu Comeau (Hearst Lumberjacks) and Daks Klinkhammer (Greater Sudbury Cubs) have been named its BrokerLink Insurance 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending April 27.
Lucas Signoretti, (F) Greater Sudbury Cubs: Notching a league-best eight points last week, Signoretti helped move the Cubs to a win away from the NOJHL championship.
The veteran centre from Kanata, Ont., also scored once in each of his three games played to extend his overall tally total in the postseason to 17.
With points in all 13 contests in the playoffs to date, Signoretti, who played parts of his minor hockey in the Ottawa Valley Titans system, tops all league skaters with 35, including 11 multi-point efforts.
Mathieu Comeau, (F) Hearst Lumberjacks: Keeping his hometown Hearst side in contention in the league final, the 19-year-old Comeau etched his name on the game sheet six times in a trio of match-ups.
This was highlighted by a game-high four points in a must-win performance on Friday in Sudbury. Included was his sixth shorthanded marker of the playoffs, which leads the NOJHL.
An alumnus of the Kapuskasing Flyers under-18 AAA program, Comeau sits fourth in league postseason scoring with 20 points, having established personal bests in goals (8) and assists (12).
Daks Klinkhammer, (F) Greater Sudbury Cubs: With points in six straight for the Cubs entering Game 6 Monday evening in Hearst, Klinkhammer kept his run going in the time frame with a pair of markers and four helpers.
The 19-year-old from Ajax, Ont., has scored three times and also contributed by setting up seven more as part of his active point streak.
Coming out of the Ajax-Pickering Raiders minor hockey ranks, Klinkhammer is sitting fifth in NOJHL playoff scoring on six tallies and 13 assists.
