SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Monday that forwards Lucas Signoretti (Greater Sudbury Cubs) and Mathieu Comeau (Hearst Lumberjacks), along with goaltender Alexandre Boivin (Hearst Lumberjacks), have been named its BrokerLink Insurance 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending April 6.
Lucas Signoretti, (F) Greater Sudbury Cubs: Involved nine of 11 goals the Cubs scored in the opening two contests against the Soo Thunderbirds, Signoretti powered Greater Sudbury to a 2-0 series lead.
In all, the two-time league MVP from Kanata, Ont., tallied twice and dished seven primary assists to give him points in each of the Cubs playoff contests to date. This includes five multi-point outings. His six points in the opener against the T-Birds tied a team record for the most in a single postseason match-up.
Competing out of Ottawa Valley Titans system in his minor hockey days, Signornetti currently leads all NOJHL skaters in postseason goals (9); assists (11) and points (20).
Mathieu Comeau, (F) Hearst Lumberjacks: Special teams play saw Comeau strikes three times while the Lumberjacks were shorthanded to help give Hearst a 2-0 series edge in their semifinal versus Timmins.
Two of those tallies for the 19-year-old were the game-winners in a pair of victories for his hometown side.
Skating previously with the Kapuskasing Flyers under-18 organization, the four-year NOJHL veteran is currently on a five-game point streak, having raised his career playoff numbers to 26, including 13 markers.
Alexandre Boivin, (G) Hearst Lumberjacks: Backstopping the Lumberjacks to a couple of triumphs over the weekend, Boivin’s solid play has helped his club remain unbeaten so far in 2025 postseason action.
Another product of the Kapuskasing Flyers U18 program, the 18-year-old rookie netminder from Blind River, Ont., continues to excel in his initial NOJHL campaign.
Boivin finished up the week with a NOJHL-best 1.00 goals-against average, along with a save percentage of .964 and one shutout, to move into second overall in GAA (2.30) as well as third in SV% (.926).
