Coach Bégin Steps Down from the Jacks to Pursue New Opportunity as Director of Parks and Recreation
Hearst — The Jacks organization announces that Head Coach Marc-Alain Bégin stepped down from his position to take on a new role as Hearst Director of Parks and Recreation. While Coach Bégin will no longer be behind the bench, he will remain involved with the franchise in a new capacity, continuing to support the growth and development of the team and community.
“I loved being the Jacks Head Coach for the past five years and the team’s assistant Coach prior to that. I always felt supported by the Executive members, by the team of coaches around me and by the community. I will remember all the strong ties I’ve created with the players which made my job way easier” said Coach Bégin.
Coach Bégin compiled an impressive record of 160 Wins, 67 Losses and 1 Tie in 228 Regular season games as the Bench Boss. He helped the Jacks reach Game 7 of the League Finals twice and was a part of the coaching staff when the Jacks captured the Championship in the 2018-19 season.
Since taking over as head coach, Bégin has left a lasting and positive mark on the Jacks organization. Known for instilling accountability, respect, and heart into every aspect of the team’s culture, his leadership has been deeply appreciated by both the players, the team Executive and the broader community.
“Coach Bégin brought a standard of professionalism and passion that helped shape who we are today,” said Jonathan Blier, Vice President and General Manager. “He’s more than a coach—he’s a mentor, a leader, and a pillar of our community.”
While the Jacks are sad to see him step away from the bench, the organization is proud to see him take on this important new role in public service and looks forward to his continued involvement in the team’s future.
