Northern Sports Talk of Northern Sports Network recently sat down with Nipissing Lakers OUA Assistant Coach Nate Kwofie to discuss his coaching journey and achievements. Before joining the Lakers, Nate enjoyed a successful tenure with the St. Mary’s Knights from 2019 to 2023, coaching the junior girls’ program and later the senior boys’ team from 2022 to 2023. Under his guidance, the junior girls captured three Sault Ste. Marie City Championships and three NOSSA titles in 2019, 2022, and 2023.
Meanwhile, the senior boys achieved back-to-back Sault Ste. Marie City Championships in 2022 and 2023, added a NOSSA Championship in 2023, and made an impressive run to the OFSAA quarter-finals that same year. Nate’s proven track record of success and his ability to develop winning programs make him a valuable asset to the Lakers’ coaching staff.
