
On Sunday, February 2nd at the John Rhodes Centre, the first place (17-1) Korah Colts took to the ice to face the fourth place (5-12) Superior Heights Steelhawks in Sault Ste Marie High School Hockey League action.
The Korah Colts delivered a dominant performance against the visiting Steelhawks, securing a 3-0 victory in a well-executed display of offensive skill and defensive discipline.
The scoring began early in the first period when Griffin Albert netted his 13th goal of the season, giving the Colts a 1-0 lead. Albert capitalized on an opportunity behind Steelhawk goaltender Danil Lipenski, setting the tone for Korah’s strong start.
Later in the first, Deago Campagna doubled the Colts’ lead with his 16th goal of the season. The tally also marked Campagna’s second point of the night, further solidifying Korah’s early advantage.
The second period saw no scoring as both teams tightened up defensively, with goaltenders on both sides making key saves to keep the game in check.
In the third period, Koen Manchulenko put the game out of reach with his 20th goal of the season, extending Korah’s lead to 3-0. His goal proved to be the final dagger, securing the Colts’ victory.
Korah netminder Payton Melchiorre was a standout performer, turning away every shot he faced en route to his second shutout of the 2024-2025 season. His strong presence between the pipes ensured the Colts remained in control throughout the game.
