
The Algoma Thunderbirds announced Tuesday, May 20th the addition of Maggie Grexton to the varsity curling program!
Hailing from Thessalon, Ontario, Maggie brings seven years of curling experience to the team. She competed with the Thessalon Curling Club, the Thessalon Bantam curling team, and Central Algoma Secondary School (CASS), representing her school at the NOSSA Championships from 2023–2025.
Maggie typically plays as Vice or Second, bringing strategy, skill, and steady execution to her role on the ice. She’s known for her dedication, love for the game, and her ability to keep the team’s energy positive and focused.
“With my dedication and love for the sport, I think I would bring a positive attitude to the team,” says Grexton
Off the ice, Maggie enjoys dancing, golf, skiing, and baseball, and will be pursuing a degree in Environmental Science at Algoma University.
