
On Thursday, February 13th, the Algoma Thunderbirds announced that Tristan Taylor to our men’s soccer team. A talented goalkeeper from Coquitlam, British Columbia, Tristan’s leadership and chemistry on the field will be a great asset to the Thunderbirds.
Tristan attended Terry Fox Secondary and has been dedicated to the sport for the past four years. His development has been shaped by playing for Coquitlam Metro Ford Soccer Club, FC Tigers, and the BC Provincial Team. His competitive experience includes the 2022 Provincial Championship and the 2022 National Championships, where his team finished in 5th place.
Tristan is known for his strong leadership and ability to build chemistry with his teammates, qualities that will enhance the team’s dynamic both on and off the field.
Outside of soccer, Tristan enjoys hanging out with friends and playing video games. He is also a big fan of Drake. Academically, he will be pursuing a degree in Visual Arts at Algoma University.
When asked why he chose Algoma, he states that the program will lead to a bright future.
“We are very excited to bring Tristan into our squad and goalkeeper group. He is a great shot stopper and has fantastic distribution. We are happy he has chosen Algoma U and will be coming with a couple of boys he has played with previously. Looking forward to seeing what he can bring,” says Head Coach, David Andreychuk.
