Local ski club Searchmont Ski Runners will have six athletes representing the Northern Ontario Division (NOD) at the Alpine Ontario Aplin (AOA) U16 OCUP Finals being held March 6-10 at Searchmont Resort. Elinor Bateman, Maelee Lesnick, and Cathryn Porpealia will race for the ladies, and Reid Gordon, Emmett Kreps, and Landon Phillips for the men. The event is the culmination of countless hours of training and competition for these incredibly talented and hardworking young athletes.
The event will be hosted at Searchmont Resort, drawing 160 athletes from all four divisions of AOA to compete in the Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Super Giant Slalom (Super G) events. The resort will be open with lots of great events planned for March break, giving visitors an opportunity to watch these exciting races and cheer on our local athletes while enjoying a great day at the hill.
