On Thursday, May 8th, and Friday, May 9th, the Korah Colts senior boys soccer team competed in the 2025 North Bay Invitational in North Bay, Ontario — and walked away as tournament champions after an intense final that ended in dramatic fashion.
The Colts opened their tournament run with a hard-fought 1–0 win over the host team, St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears. Hunter Dickinson scored the lone goal in the match, securing the opening victory and setting the tone for Korah’s strong run.
In their second match, the Colts took on École secondaire catholique Sainte-Marie of New Liskeard. Nathan Guizietti contributed one goal while AJ Carbone added two more, leading Korah to a 3–1 win and maintaining their undefeated record.
Game three of the round-robin saw the Colts face École secondaire catholique l’Horizon of Sudbury. In a tightly contested matchup, it was once again Hunter Dickinson who delivered, this time scoring on a powerful header in a 1–0 victory, giving Korah three straight wins heading into the semi-finals.
In the semi-final, Korah matched up against the Notre-Dame College Alouettes of Sudbury. The Colts delivered a complete performance, shutting out their opponents 3–0. Guizzetti opened the scoring, followed by a stunning free kick from Ryder Strachan and a composed penalty conversion from Coulson Bell.
The final showdown came against the Chippewa Raiders of North Bay. In a tense and evenly matched contest, Korah and Chippewa were deadlocked 1–1 at the end of regulation, with Bell scoring on a penalty to keep the Colts alive. The match headed to penalty kicks, and the Colts rose to the occasion.
In the shootout, Guizzetti, Strachan, and Bell each converted their penalties, while goalkeeper Fernando Corral stood tall, stopping all four of Chippewa’s attempts to secure a 3–1 shootout victory and the 2025 North Bay Invitational title.
With clutch scoring, disciplined play, and a standout performance from Corral in net, the Korah Colts senior boys capped off a perfect tournament with championship gold — a testament to their talent, composure, and teamwork on the pitch.
