
Over the weekend of Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27, the Sault U8 United Black and Red teams made the trip south to Lansing, Michigan to compete in the 2025 Lansing Spring 7v7 Classic. The whole Sault U8 United participated in the Lansing Spring 7v7 Classic with the team divided into two teams with a total of 14 players involved.
The action kicked off Saturday morning as Sault U8 United faced off against GallaDev 2017. The young squad started strong, securing a 4–2 victory in their tournament opener. Later in the day, they kept their momentum rolling in a 4:30 p.m matchup against National Troy 18 Black. Sault U8 United delivered an offensive clinic, cruising to a commanding 9–2 win.
The team returned to the field on Sunday looking to continue their winning ways. In their first game of the day at 11:30 a.m, Sault U8 United Black and Red battled Nationals Macomb 2017 and once again came out on top, taking a 6–1 victory. In their final game of the tournament, the Sault squad shut out Nationals Capital Area 2017 Black with an impressive 7–0 win, showcasing their defensive strength and relentless attack.
Across the weekend, Sault U8 United Black and Red put on a dominant performance, finishing the tournament undefeated with these seven players that included Sault U8 United Black and Red roster included Drew Denneny, Kaynan Jackson, Francesco Perez, Jackson Grondin, Jaxon Caldwell, Cooper Douba, and Leo Alfano. The Sault U8 Black and Red combined goal difference of 26–5. The team’s hard work, teamwork, and determination were on full display, making it a weekend to remember.
The other half of the roster for Sault U8 United Red included Caleb Law, Jackson Facey, Cole MacDonald, Connor Turgeon, Drew Culina, Noah Bychko, and Maxwell Ioew where they played as Sault U8 United Red Saturday and Sunday in Lansing at the 2025 Lansing Spring 7v7 Classic.
For Sault U8 United Red on Saturday, the Sault U8 United Red had a hard-fought 4–2 loss against Nationals Troy 2017, followed by an exciting 5–5 draw against Nationals Capital Area Black later in the afternoon. On Sunday, Sault U8 United Red came out firing on all cylinders, overpowering DSC Blue with an impressive 10–0 victory. The Red team showed remarkable growth, resilience, and attacking flair throughout the weekend.
