St Mary’s College Knight Emma Walker Joins Algoma Thunderbird Wrestling Program for Fall of 2025

The Algoma Thunderbirds proudly welcome Emma Walker to the Varsity Wrestling program for the fall of 2025!
Hailing from Sault Ste. Marie and a graduate of St. Mary’s College, Emma has made her mark as a fierce competitor on the mat. With a decorated high school career that includes being a 3x City Champion, 2x NOSSA Champion, and an OFSAA Silver Medalist, Emma now brings her grit and experience to the Thunderbirds.
She has trained and competed with both her high school team and the Algoma Wrestling Club, developing into a well-rounded, determined athlete ready for the next level.
“I’m a dedicated and competitive athlete who contributes to a positive team environment,” says Walker.
Emma will be pursuing a Biology degree at Algoma University, balancing academic excellence with her drive for athletic success. “The wrestling coaches had a significant impact on my decision to go to Algoma, as well as the friendly and welcoming wrestlers on the team.”
Outside of competition, Emma is passionate about coaching and weight training, further emphasizing her commitment to the sport and her team.
