Utah’s Elia Ransom Coming to Algoma to Join Thunderbird Wrestling Program in Fall of 2025

The Algoma Thunderbirds Wrestling program announced Elia Ransom from Clinton, Utah will join their wrestling program in the fall of 2025!
A graduate of Northridge High School, Elia has competed for Excalibur Wrestling and brings experience from both Folkstyle and Freestyle State competitions, along with Nationals. She earned 4th at Folkstyle State, 5th at Freestyle State, and was named to the 2nd Team All Region. Her coaches have recognized her grit and attitude with awards like the Most Coachable Award, Perseverance Award, and the Lady Knight Award.

Elia will be studying in the Bachelor of Arts program at Algoma U. She has maintained High Honor Roll status and received the Student Athlete Award — showing her commitment to excellence both in the classroom and on the mat.
A multi-sport and multi-talented student-athlete, Elia also enjoys tennis, lacrosse, art, and reading.
“I chose Algoma U because I think the program will help me reach my full potential,” says Ransom.
We can’t wait to see Elia’s potential unfold as she joins the Thunderbirds this fall!
