The Algoma University Thunderbirds are proud to celebrate Ben Miskiw, skip of their men’s curling team, as he prepares to compete on the national stage. Miskiw will be representing Team Northern Ontario in the Curling Canada U20 National Curling Championship, held in Charlottetown, PEI. Stepping into the second position, he will face off against some of the best young curlers in the country.
Miskiw follows in the footsteps of some of Algoma’s most accomplished curling alumni. Brad Jacobs, a former Thunderbird, now skips Team Alberta, while Ryan and EJ Harnden—also former Algoma curlers—are competing for Team Manitoba as lead and skip, respectively.
The U20 National Championship is a key stepping stone for elite curlers, providing a platform to showcase skill, strategy, and resilience on a national level. Miskiw’s dedication to the sport and his leadership as part of the Thunderbirds curling program make him a strong competitor heading into the event.
The championship takes place March 23-30, 2025 in Charlottetown, PEI. Stay tuned for updates and results as Miskiw represents Team Northern Ontario and the Algoma Thunderbirds on the national stage!
