saultsports SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Saturday that Tyler Patterson (Hearst Lumberjacks); Adam Shillinglaw (Hearst Lumberjacks); Noah Metivier (Soo Thunderbirds) and Mattis Lafond (Blind River Beavers) have been named its BrokerLink Insurance Forward; Defenceman; Goaltender and Rookie of the Month, respectively, for February.
FORWARD: Tyler Patterson, Hearst Lumberjacks – Pacing all NOJHL skaters offensively, the 20-year-old from Newcastle, Ont., led the way in both tallies and points with eight and 18 respectively. He was also second in assists with 10.
As well, February saw Patterson reach the 100-goal plateau in his time in the league, while wrapping up the month on an eight-game point streak and moving into a share of third spot in NOJHL scoring for 2024-25.
Reaching 60, or more, points for a third straight year, Patterson needs just three more to establish a personal single-season high of 66 points.

DEFENCEMAN: Adam Shillinglaw, Hearst Lumberjacks – In nine games played, Shillinglaw scored four times and helped set-up eight others as part of a 6-2-1-0 month for the Lumberjacks, who have gone unbeaten in their past six.
The 20-year-old from New Liskeard, Ont., leads all NOJHL blueliners in offensive production, while averaging over a point-per-game, with 53 in 46 contests. He also tops all rearguards in game-winning goals with four.
Shillinglaw enters March two games shy of the 200-mark in his career and requires just three points to reach 150 overall.

GOALTENDER: Noah Metivier, Soo Thunderbirds – Sharing the league-lead in wins during February with four, the two-time NOJHL Playoff MVP, is rounding into form helping his hometown Sault Ste. Marie side qualify for the postseason.
Among Metivier’s efforts saw him register a .932 save percentage for the period as well as make 41 stops in a victory over front-running Greater Sudbury back on Feb. 15.
In his final year of Jr. A hockey, his 72 career victories are the most of NOJHL goaltender since the start of the 2018-19 campaign.

ROOKIE: Mattis Lafond, (D) Blind River Beavers – Hailing from Scarborough, Ont., the 17-year-old Lafond made contributions at both ends of the ice while showing his mettle for Blind River in all situations.
In seven appearances during February, the Beavers’ blueliner collected as many points, all of which were assists.
Currently leading all league rookie defencemen in both scoring and helpers so far this season, Lafond has 29 points to his credit on one marker, while having chipped in on 28 others.
