The Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) have returned to No. 1 in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) Top 20 Rankings announced Monday, January 27th.
As the front-runners in the Ontario Junior Hockey League, the Golden Hawks have reeled off eight consecutive victories, raising their record to 37-5-2-0, while pacing the entire CJHL in goals-scored with 219.
At No. 2 in the listings, which are compiled each week by an independent scouting service, are the Greater Sudbury Cubs (NOJHL).
Despite having a lengthy winning streak snapped over the weekend, the Cubs still sit atop the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League table with a 34-3-1-1 mark.
Meanwhile, tabbed at No. 3 are the Melfort Mustangs (SJHL).
The Mustangs also had a victory run stopped last week, but still lead the way in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, having gone 32-6-0-0 to date.
Slotted at No. 4 are the Edmundston Blizzard (MHL).
With a postseason berth already secured in the Maritime Hockey League, the Blizzard are playing .829 hockey so far on the campaign while holding down first place there at 33-6-1-1.
Capping off the Top 5 to wrap-up January are the Leamington Flyers (OJHL).
Boasting a record of 35-6-2-1, the Flyers continue to be solid defensively, having only given up 74 tallies-against in their first 44 games played.
