On Tuesday, January 21 in Sault Ste Marie High School Girls Junior and Senior High School Volleyball, the St Mary’s Knights taking on the Superior Heights Steelhawks for junior action while the Knights took on the Steelhawks and the École Notre-Dame-du-Sault Voyageurs facing the Korah Colts..
In junior volleyball action, the St. Mary’s Knights demonstrated their dominance over Superior Heights with a 2-0 sweep, securing victory with scores of 25-13 and 25-23. The first set was a commanding performance by St. Mary’s, who controlled the tempo and set the tone early, easily taking the lead. The second set was much more competitive, with Superior Heights showing resilience and pushing St. Mary’s to the limit. However, St. Mary’s held their ground and managed to close out the match, securing the win with a well-timed finish.
On the senior side, St. Mary’s continued their impressive play, defeating Superior Heights in straight sets, 25-10 and 25-14. The Knights were in complete control throughout the match, overpowering their opponents with strong serves and sharp attacks. Korah also delivered an outstanding performance, sweeping École Notre-Dame-du-Sault Voygaeurs 2-0 with scores of 25-15 and 25-22. Korah’s consistent play and solid teamwork allowed them to maintain control throughout both sets, with the Voyageurs unable to mount a successful challenge despite some strong individual efforts. Both teams displayed excellent skill, but it was St. Mary’s and Korah who came away with the victories in this exciting round of high school volleyball action.
