In the second game of the Sault Ste. Marie High School Hockey League doubleheader on Sunday, December 15th, the undefeated Korah Colts faced off against the third-place St. Mary’s Knights at the John Rhodes Centre. The game saw the Colts showcasing their dominant form, maintaining their perfect record with a commanding 5-1 victory. The matchup was highly anticipated, with both teams bringing intensity and determination to the ice.
Korah opened the scoring in the first period with goals from Samuel Caruso and Donny Hernden, establishing an early lead. The second period featured a response from the Knights’ Owen Brown, but the Colts answered back with goals from Daego Campagna and Koen Manchulenko. Griffin Albert sealed the win for Korah with a third-period goal. In net, Korah’s Peyton Melchiorre was a standout, turning away 16 of 17 shots, while St. Mary’s goaltender Grant Mathewson faced heavy pressure, stopping 19 of 24 shots in the loss.
